Modeling in 3D
Earlier this year I started a 3D Model project to create a realistic looking character. My aim was to create a full animated sequence but I ran out of time and had to shelve the project. Although incomplete, I decided it was worth making a short animated sequence and compiling a video that explained how I made the model. Modelling | Maya Texturing | Photoshop Rendering | MentalRay Video sequence | Final Cut Studio
Music | Richard Woolgar Photography | Anna Corbould Model | Dean Taylor
Here are a bunch of production images from both the 3D animated version of my project and the original Illustrations. Featured below are some shots of the 3D models in different stages, the original Short Story Storyboard and the costume designs for the 2 main characters. Hope you like them :)
For the past 2 weeks I have been working hard on turning my storyboard / short story project into an animation. In what has been the hardest project I have ever worked on. I have built a 3D environment and sculpted, textured rigged and animated a 3D character. I will post up soon some more info on the making of it but for now enjoy this mini trailer.
I have yet to produce the full animation as I have another character to make and need some music to add... but the potential is amazing. The main objective of doing this is to make it resemble the illustrations as closely as possible. The original illustrations can be found here..
